Distribution of Compressive Measurements Generated by Structurally Random Matrices

چکیده
— Structurally random matrices (SRMs) have been proposed as a practical alternative to fully random matrices (FRMs) for generating compressive sensing measurements. If the compressive measurements are transmitted over a communication channel, they need to be efficiently quantized and coded and hence knowledge of the measurements' statistics reequired. In this paper we study the statistical distribution of compressive measurements generated by various types of SRMs (and FRMs), give conditions for asymptotic normality and point out the implications for the measurements' quantization and coding. Simulations on real-world video signals confirm the theoretical findings and show that the signal randomization of SRMs yields a dramatic improvement in quantization properties.

Compressive measurements generated by structurally random matrices: Asymptotic normality and quantization
Abstract— Structurally random matrices (SRMs) are a practical alternative to fully random matrices (FRMs) when generating compressive sensing measurements because of their computational efficiency and their universality with respect to the sparsifing basis. In this work we derive the statistical distribution of compressive measurements generated by various types of SRMs, as a function of the ...

Compressive sensing (CS) combines data acquisition with compression coding to reduce the number of measurements required to reconstruct a sparse signal. In optics, this usually takes the form of projecting the field onto sequences of random spatial patterns that are selected from an appropriate random ensemble. We show here that CS can be exploited in 'native' optics hardware without introducin...
متن کاملDeterministic Sensing Matrices in Compressive Sensing: A Survey
Compressive sensing is a sampling method which provides a new approach to efficient signal compression and recovery by exploiting the fact that a sparse signal can be suitably reconstructed from very few measurements. One of the most concerns in compressive sensing is the construction of the sensing matrices. While random sensing matrices have been widely studied, only a few deterministic sensi...
متن کاملA Fast Compressive Sensing Based Digital Image Encryption Technique using Structurally Random Matrices and Arnold Transform
A new digital image encryption method based on fast compressed sensing approach using structurally random matrices and Arnold transform is proposed. Considering the natural images to be compressed in any domain, the fast compressed sensing based approach saves computational time, increases the quality of the image and reduces the dimension of the digital image by choosing even 25 % of the measu...
